MORE ABOUT ME...
I joined the summer institute because: I am the director and join all of them! Plus, we're a fabulous community!
The best word to describe my attitude toward writing is: enthusiastic!
The reason I became a teacher is: When I was a kid, 2-3 professions were primarily open to women: teacher, secretary, Mrs., and one or two illegal ones that I won't specify. Fortunately, I wanted to be a university teacher, so I set my goals and made it. Also fortunately, I love doing it!
If I could change one thing about myself: My impatience
If I could change one thing about my students: their lack of confidence in their abilities
If I could change one thing about my classroom: more windows!
Outside of school, my interests are: What, there's life beyond work?
I read: memoir, sci fi, young adult lit., the entire Harry Potter and Twilight series (I have a 13 year old!) books that my friends recommend to me as being really good.
I watch: not much TV and movies only once they have hit cable, but I do have a few secret pleasures for TV watching: Big Love, True Blood, House, Bones.... but I don't catch any of them regularly.
You should know: that my bark is generally worse than my bite, but I will bite you absolutely if necessary!
